Hello darkness, my old friend. I’ve come to talk with you again.

Harvey: I have to that it’s a relief to find someone who actually says what they’re feeling and what they’re thinking, and feeling. Especially in a place that’s supposed to be, you know, Britain…English…reserved
Kate: Oh no, no haven’t you heard? We’re a nation changed, ever since Diana died we’re all so flowing out of us like water. You guys showed us the way actually, no more stiff upper lip for us!
Harvey: and what is that exactly?
Kate: What?
Harvey: Stiff upper lip?
Kate: I’m not sure, it’s kind of…an all clenched thing

Kate: I think so, you know, when you cry your lips wobble and when you’re being strong, they don’t

Failing is not the worst. Commiting a sin is worse. Not failing, commiting a sin. Putting something out there that is safe, that you think “Well, I won’t get hurt. It’s been done before.” It’s kind of a sin because you’re denying yourself your gift. There’s nothing wrong with failing, you’re gonna fail, everyone fails. Take a big risk, let the film not work, let the actor be inconsistent, but take the risk, that’s worth everything.
